From attending the University’s Lavender Congratulatory to an alumni and undergraduate social in Chicago, Illinois Pride Alumni Network members have been active since the organization’s founding in 2025. To continue the momentum, alum and I-PAN Leadership Board-Member-At-Large Larry Cohen said he wanted to host a Homecoming event.
Planning an event during Homecoming weekend, however, had its difficulties, Cohen said. With the football game, he said he wasn’t sure how many alumni would make it to an I-PAN event; instead, Cohen explained that he decided to do something that would last the entire month.
For LGBTQ+ History Month, I-PAN organized an exhibit and webinar with the Main Library, along with a scheduled appearance in the parade at the 2026 CU Pride Fest.
“My thinking was for Homecoming to do something a little bit larger, maybe feature in some ways, some of the actual books and other acquisitions that were paid for out of this Lambda Literature Library Fund,” Cohen said. “Something like that could be on display like the whole month of October, including Homecoming.”
